The monitoring station is located in New Westminster, British Columbia.

Is the security system connected to the police?
No. The security system is connected to the monitoring station.

If I have a pet, Can I have a security system?
Yes. SCOTT SECURITY will install a pet friendly motion detector. Our staff will be happy to discuss this option with you.

Should I test my security system?
Yes, test your security system weekly. Before testing call the monitoring station and have your password or account number ready.

What if my security system is not working properly?
Call Scott Security at 604-451-0300 office immediately to make an appointment.

What if I change my telephone service provider?
Your security system uses your phone line to transmit alarm signals to the monitoring station we recommend test your system immediately after your new telephone provider finish the installation.

What is Voice over IP (VoIP)?
VOIP is an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocol. SCOTT SECURITY does not recommend using VoIP with your security system.

If I move what happens to my security system?
If you have at least two years of service, SCOTT SECURITY will install a free basic system at your new location.

How do I change my emergency key holders list?
Simply call SCOTT SECURITY. Have your password or account number ready in order to make any changes. Remember to notify your key holders list regarding their responsibilities when they receive a call from the monitoring station.

Can you turn on or off my security system from your offices?
No, it can only be turned on or off from your keypad. SCOTT SECURITY does not have remote access to your security system.

If I trip my alarm, what should I do?
Enter your 4 digit code to disarm the alarm, wait for the telephone line to clear then call the monitoring station. You must provide your password or account number to cancel any police action.

Will my alarm system still work if the power goes off?
Yes, every alarm system is supplied with a back-up battery which will maintain your alarm for several hours. In the event your battery is low, a low battery signal will be sent to the monitoring station and you will be notified
